The highlights:
Linebackers coach Kirk Botkin said Wisconsin would be the most-physical game of the year for his linebackers and that his most-physical linebacker was Kaiwan Lewis. He said the Badgers did a great job of establishing a passing game off the running attack and that the key for his unit would be to make sure they played their assignments perfectly.
Botkin said other teams such as Penn State and Arizona State had success against Wisconsin stopping the run and that the Gamecocks would utilize some of the strategies that had been successful but would be focusing predominantly on doing what his guys do well.
Defensive backs coach Grady Brown said the rotation at cornerback for the bowl game will be Jimmy Legree and Victor Hampton backed up by Rico McWilliams and Brison Williams.
Legree said he was fine with the departure of cornerback Ahmad Christian because it meant more snaps for him. He said he looked forward to the challenge of stopping a running game and using his physicality.
Defensive line coach Deke Adams said his unit had a terrific practice and that NFL-bound juniors Jadeveon Clowney and Kelcy Quarles were extremely focused on the task at hand.
