Steve Spurrier praised Shaq Roland for his play down the stretch and especially in the Clemson game. He also praised Connor Shaw for what he accomplished in his career at USC
Spurrier said at practice he got back Nick Fleetwood for helping give him a Gatorade bath after the Clemson game by pouring ice down his back. Spurrier said it isn't fun getting drenched with cold Gatorade and ice, especially when you're not expecting it. He said he also wants to get Kelcy Quarles back for his role as the co-culprit with Fleetwood but that Quarles is expecting it and that he's hard to sneak up on.
Spurrier said he hasn't changed his approach to bowl games much since he's been coaching. He said he doesn't believe in heavy contact beforehand and doesn't believe in getting there too early because as it is, after a week the players are ready to play a game and get home. He said he recognizes that many Northern teams (such as Michigan last year) get there early because of weather issues.
Spurrier also praised Jadeveon Clowney for choosing South Carolina and for being a great ambassador for the school.
Shaw said he expects the bowl game to be emotional for him being his last college game and he's approaching practices trying to have fun but, most importantly, preparing to get a win.
INJURY REPORT: No injuries were reported Wednesday.
UP NEXT: South Carolina will practice tomorrow but there is no media availability.
