Josh Vann had been going back and forth between Georgia and South Carolina for months, but over the past month, the Gamecocks have started to separate from the Bulldogs.
The four-star wide receiver out of Tucker (Ga.) has committed to South Carolina.
"It was not an easy decision," said Vann. "I just feel very comfortable at South Carolina. They have made me feel important from the beginning and that was important to me.
"I have a great connection with the coaches there and I feel I can make a big impact there."
South Carolina is having success in the Peach State and that could be what helps Will Muschamp reach the type of success on the field that he is looking for.
Vann knows the Gamecocks recruit the Peach State hard and he sees good things coming in Columbia (S.C.).
"I like how they are recruiting and how they are getting a lot of impact players out of Georgia. We (Georgia recruits) can make a real difference there. I see that happening."
Vann now is just happy to have his recruitment behind him.
The speedster has never wanted the attention being a top prospect brings, so putting his name on South Carolina's commitment list makes him happy on multiple levels.
"Man, it was tough," Vann said about the attention. "I would have committed a long time ago if I knew for sure.
"I did not want to commit, then de-commit and do all of that, so I waited. I am happy it is over now."
