It was a senior day to remember for Chris Silva, and he was rewarded handsomely for it.

The forward was named SEC Co-Player of the Week along with Arkansas's Daniel Gafford for after the final week of the regular season.

Silva averaged 23 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals as the Gamecocks won two games this week against Texas A&M and Georgia.

The preseason All-SEC player is averaging 14.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and two blocks per game this year while shooting 49.8 percent from the field. He's also hitting 45.2 percent of his three pointers, including making a career-high four against Texas A&M this week and picking up a new career high in rebounds against the Aggies this week as well with 17.

Silva now has eight double-doubles in 18 SEC games this season as the Gamecocks (16-15, 11-7 SEC) secured a double bye in the conference tournament, which starts this week in Nashville.

The Gamecocks start conference tournament this Friday and don't know their opponent yet. It will either be Auburn, Georgia or Missouri.
