South Carolina is set to receive significant help at the defensive tackle position by the end of the week.

Lawrenceville (Georgia) Archer defensive tackle Kobe Smith is set to enroll at South Carolina on Friday, according to Rivals.com's Woody Wommack.

Smith, a former Kentucky commitment, backed off his pledge to the Wildcats and began looking hard at South Carolina in December.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder has been given a 5.7 three-star billing by Rivals.com as is ranked as the nation's 38th-best defensive tackle prospect.
