South Carolina injury report: Muschamp runs down spring injury list

SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS FOOTBALL

As South Carolina starts it 2019 spring practice on Wednesday, the Gamecocks will be without seven players who will miss most or all of the spring, head coach Will Muschamp said Tuesday.

Another six players were categorized by Muschamp as being "limited" this spring, meaning in some cases they'll only participate in non-contact situations or they'll miss the start of practice but are expected to participate at some point.

There's a possibility that Jenerette and Caleb Kinlaw could be back practicing in a non-contact capacity by the end of the spring, according to Muschamp, and he expects all of his injured players back for the fall.

"All of those guys will be fine," Muschamp said. "Most of those guys will be possibly non-contact at the end of the spring - possibly, but I don't want to project that right now. But all of those guys will be fine."

** Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Max Iyama is going through a non-identified medical condition and will not be cleared until the staff knows more about what he's going through.

** Defensive end Aaron Sterling is back full-go after missing the latter part of the season with a knee injury.

** Muschamp went into further detail on OrTre's Smith's status: "Because of his knee, and that situation, he probably will not be cleared until after spring break as far as practice, but we feel like he'll be cleared for non-contact at least after spring break."
