South Carolina's football team took to the Proving Grounds on Tuesday to continue its preparation for this weekend's game with Vanderbilt.
The highlights:
-- Grady Brown said he would like to see his defensive backs take a big leap forward this week. They've made baby steps so far, he said.
-- Brown said that D.J. Smith has practiced at cornerback, safety and nickelback.
-- Deke Adams said that J.T. Surratt missed practice but should be fine.
-- Offensive lineman Cody Waldrop left practice on a crutch. No word on his status for Vanderbilt.
-- Adams says that Taylor Stallworth is going to be a good player and played a handful of snaps Saturday. He just needs to get more and more comfortable with the defense.
