Urich sets commitment ceremony

South Carolina quarterback target Jay Urich will announce his commitment Friday at 3:30 during a ceremony at Wren High School, according to Urich's private quarterback coach and Elite Position Training founder Ramon Robinson.

The 6-foot-3, 186-pounder landed an offer from South Carolina in April and has taken countless visits to the school.

"I'm really excited to get an offer from USC!" Urich said at the time. "It's such a blessing!"

Urich also holds offers from schools like Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Harvard, Yale and North Dakota State. He's been receiving heavy interest as of late from Duke, Tennessee, Boston College and N.C. State.

South Carolina does not have a quarterback committed to its 2017 class and plans to sign one.

Urich is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 20 prospect in the state.
