Jackson (Ga.) defensive end Neland Ball was one of the top performers at the Athens NIKE Camp over the weekend, and has picked up two scholarship offers since the event.

"Clemson and South Carolina have offered me since the NIKE, and I already had offers from Auburn, Ole Miss and Kentucky before that," the 6-foot-5, 216-pound Ball said. "I also like Georgia, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Tennessee."
Ball, who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds and turned in 25 reps of 185 pounds on the bench press during the testing phase at the NIKE Camp, currently has Auburn at the top of his list.
"I really everything about Auburn," he said. "I've been there a few times, so I'm more familiar with them than I am with the other schools that have offered me. I like their coaches and their facilities and all that kind of stuff."
Ball's most recent offer came from the South Carolina Gamecocks.
"Coach (Tyrone) Nix called me last night (Tuesday), and he let me know that I had a scholarship offer from them, so that was pretty good. I liked how he talked with me. I've never been there, so I don't know as much about them, but I liked what he had to say."
The Clemson Tigers also offered Ball this week.
"I like Clemson's coaches and their academic situation. They have a high graduation rate from what I've heard."
Georgia and Florida State round out the list of schools Ball commented on.
"I went to Georgia's junior day, and their coaches are down to earth people. They also have good team chemistry with their players, and I've heard they have good academics. With Florida State, I just love their tradition and Bobby Bowden as a coach."
Ball will base his decision on several factors.
"I'm looking for a school with good academics, nice facilities and a great coaching staff. I also want to know they have the kind of weight program where I can get a lot strong once I get to college. The last thing is I want to be a part of a team with a good family bond."
While Ball isn't sure when he'll make his final decision, he does know when he'll narrow his list.
"I should have it down to five schools by August. Auburn is my favorite school as of today. I just know a lot more about them than any of the other schools. I'll take more visits this summer, and that will give me a chance to see a lot of other schools."
