USC moving up speedy WRs list

Naples (Fla.) Barron Collier wide receiver Matt Clements is one of the fastest overall prospects in the Sunshine State this year, and he's currently focused on five schools.
"South Carolina, Auburn, Clemson, Pitt and Indiana," the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Clements said. "I haven't taken any visits yet, so I don't know as much about the schools as I will in the future. But those five stand out right now."

One team Clements, who runs the 40-yard dash in under 4.4 seconds, is at least somewhat familiar with is the South Carolina Gamecocks.
"South Carolina throws the ball a lot, and they need wide receivers. Playing for Steve Spurrier would be good for me. I stay in touch with Coach (Robert) Gillespie a good bit."
Auburn also rates highly on Clements' list.
"I haven't done a lot of research on them, but I've seen them play a few times on TV. I like their style."
Clements, who racked up 60 catches for 732 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior, believes he has double-digit scholarship offers for a few reasons.
"My ability to catch the football, my speed, my vision and my blocking. Really, I'd put my blocking at the top. That's something I focus on."
Clements, who also has offers from schools such as West Virginia and Iowa State, will choose which school to sign with based on three factors.
"Location, because I want to stay pretty close to home. Also, academics and the quality of the football program."
Two teams currently sit atop Clements' list.
"South Carolina and Auburn are my favorites. Neither school has an edge over the other one."
