South Carolina offensive players and coaches met with the media following a two-hour workout Wednesday evening in preparation for Florida.
Notes from Wednesday evening's practice:
-- Quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus says that Florida's defense presents quite a challenge and the offense has to continue to mix it up. Mangus and Steve Spurrier Jr. both complimented the Gators' secondary. Spurrier Jr. said you have to do some different things to account for cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III.
-- Mangus said that it will be up to the medical staff on if guard Mike Matulis can play, but Matulis wants to play, so that gives hope that he'll be ready to go.
-- D.J. Neal has made a lot of progress, injury-wise, since Saturday and could play this week. He fell on his back during a play, but there's no serious issue. It's more of a pain-tolerance issue at this point.
-- Mangus says that quarterback Connor Mitch has made a lot of progress since returning to practice and had a strong practice today. The hope is that Mitch can make an impact again this season.
-- Defensive tackle Dante Sawyer was still in a yellow jersey, but had pads on, which is generally a sign he was able to participate to an extent.
