Williams enjoyed USCs camp

Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast cornerback Jamire Williams is one of the top defensive back prospects in the Sunshine State's class of 2007, and he recently attended camp at the University of South Carolina.
"I had a real good time at South Carolina's camp," the 6-foot, 180-pound Williams said. "They taught me a lot of new techniques and things I can use this year in my games. I worked with coach (Ron) Cooper pretty much the whole camp, and he was good to work with. I also got to meet with Steve Spurrier while I was there. He mainly just told me he'd love to have me come up there and play for them."

Williams, who runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.4 second range, plans to attend two more camps this summer.
"I'm going to camp at Clemson and Florida later this summer. I like the coaches at Clemson, and they're just telling me to come up there and check out their facilities and everything. Florida still hasn't offered me, but they're staying in touch with me. They're sending me letters and everything saying they like me, but they haven't offered."
Auburn and Georgia Tech round out Williams' top five.
"Auburn has really turned it up lately. They think I could really come in and make an impact on their program. Georgia Tech is the same way, except they're talking like I might even be able to come in and start there if I worked hard enough."
Williams will base his decision on three primary factors.
"Academics, the football program and the coaching staff. I feel like everything else will work itself out if I can find a place where I like all of those things."
Don't look for a decision from Williams anytime soon.
"It's probably going to be sometime in January before I do anything," he said. "I can say South Carolina, Clemson and Auburn are my top three schools as of today, though."
