Gamecocks in the pros: Wil Crowe makes first pro appearance

Jackie Bradley Jr. went 5-for-29 (.172) this week for the Boston Red Sox, with a double and a RBI. He's hitting .264 this season, and had another diving grab in the outfield to rob a hitter of extra bases.

Steve Pearce went 8-for-27 (.296) with a double, home run and four RBI for the Toronto Blue Jays .He's batting .275 this year with a .780 OPS.

Continuing his All-Star season, Justin Smoak went 10-for-24 (.417) with two doubles and three home runs, including a three-homer day Thursday, with six RBI. He has a .310 average in July with a 1.015 OPS for the Blue Jays.

Sam Dyson made four appearances for the San Fransisco Giants, pitching five shutout innings. He picked up two saves and a win. Since joining the Giants he has a 2.45 ERA.

Whit Merrifield hit .357 (10-for-28) with five runs scored, a homer and eight RBI for the Kansas City Royals. He's hitting .375 over his last 10 games, including a walk-off sacrifice fly Saturday.

Making his second start after the All-Star game, Jordan Montgomery threw six innings and gave up six earned runs for the New York Yankees. He picked up the loss, moving to 6-5 on the year with a 4.09 ERA.

Triple-A

Christian Walker went 7-for-18 (.389) for the Reno Aces (Arizona) with two RBI. He's hitting .438 over his last 10 and .312 this season with 91 total RBI.

Making two appearances this week for the Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay), Michael Roth threw 10.1 innings, giving up nine earned runs on 17 hits. He struck out 12 and picked up two losses this week.

Bryan Harper remains on the 60-day disabled list for the Syracuse Chiefs (Washington).

After being optioned to Triple-A, Tyler Webb made two appearances for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Milwaukee). He pitched three total innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits.

Peter Mooney is hitless over his last 13 at-bats for the New Orleans Baby Cakes (Miami). He's hitting .209 this season.

Double-A

Evan Marzilli went 4-for-19 (.211) with a homer for the Jackson Generals (Arizona). He's hitting .259 in 2017.

Continuing his blistering year, Max Schrock went 11-for-23 (.478) for the Midland RockHounds (Oakland) with a homer and five RBI. He's hitting .314 in the minors this year with a .442 slugging percentage.

Joel Seddon made two appearances for the Midland RockHounds (Oakland). He threw four innings, giving up one earned run while striking out four. He has a 4.71 ERA this year.

Grayson Greiner went for 6-for-14 (.429) for the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit), including a three-hit day Thursday. He's hitting .387 over his last 10 games.

Starting one game for the Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado), Jack Wynkoop threw 7.2 innings over five-hit ball, giving up just one run. He truck out four and has a 4.62 ERA this year.

Kyle Martin hit .143 (2-for-14) with a homer this week. He's hitting .185 this season for the Reading Fightin' Phils (Philadelphia).

Single-A

Tanner English went 1-for-18 (. 056) this week with three runs scored. He's hitting .217 this year for the Fort Meyers Miracle (Minnesota).

Joey Pankake went 1-for-11 (.091) with a home run and two RBI for the Lakeland Flying Tigers (Detroit). He has a .202 average in Single-A this year.

Starting one game this week, Taylor Widener threw 4.2 innings and gave up three earned runs on three hits. He has a 4.03 ERA this year for the Tampa Yankees (Yankees).

Dom Thompson-Williams went 7-for-22 (.318) for the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees) with two home runs and five RBI. He's hitting .265 so far in short-season.

Evan Beal is on the 7-day disabled list for the Jupiter Hammerheads (Miami).

Not playing since July 14, Gene Cone remains on the Columbia Fireflies' (Mets) 7-day disabled list.

Marcus Mooney hit .389 (7-for-18) for the Rome Braves (Atlanta) with an RBI. He's hitting .226 in his first full professional season.

Braden Webb was put on the 7-day disabled list for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Milwaukee).

Matt Vogel made one appearances this week for the Hudson Valley Renegades (Tampa Bay), giving up an earned run on two hits in 1.1 innings.

After getting promoted late last week, Tyler Johnson threw one shutout inning for the Kannapolis Intimidators (White Sox) while striking out two batters. He has a 0.82 ERA to start his pro career.

Making his first-career minor league appearance, Wil Crowe threw 1.2 innings for the GCL Nationals (Nationals), giving up a run on two hits.

Alex Destino hit .133 (2-for-15) this week with the AZL White Sox (White Sox). He's hitting .275 in rookie ball.

Also pitching for the AZL White Sox (White Sox), John Parke started one game. He gave up four earned on seven hits over five innings. He has a 3.86 ERA in six appearances after being drafted in June.
