Norcross (Ga.) class of 2018 kicker Cole Hanna accepted a preferred walk-on offer from South Carolina last Monday, an opportunity he called a "dream come true."

Hanna, who camped at South Carolina prior to both his junior and senior seasons, pledged to special teams coordinator Coleman Hutzler.

"It's been my dream to play SEC football since I could walk," Hanna said. "That was a big part of it, but also the atmosphere there. I really like Coach Hutzler. He's a great guy, a great coach, full of energy. You feel at home when you're there, it's a great place to be. Everything kind of came together."

Hanna chose the Gamecocks over interest from Air Force, Columbia, Georgia State, Mercer and Troy. He says Air Force finished second.

Hanna attended multiple games in Columbia over the last two season and was back in Columbia for a recent junior day.

Hanna's on-field opportunities were limited this season as he split time with the class' No. 3 kicker Jake Camarda, who signed with Georgia.

But Hanna did hit three of his four attempts this season and registered 89 percent touchbacks on kickoffs.

He says his long in practice is 60 yards but feels consistent from 55 yards and in.

He will arrive in Columbia this summer.

Hanna is considered the No. 44 kicker in the country by Chris Sailer kicking.

Sailer's evaluation of Hanna:

Cole is an outstanding kicking prospect. He has a great leg and kicks with great technique and consistency. Field goals are smooth and accurate off the ground. He drives the ball well on kickoffs with nice hang time. Kickoffs are near the top of his class. Also a capable punter. A competitor that does very well under pressure. Cole has shown great improvement over the years. The future is bright with continued hard work. A fine young man with a great attitude and work ethic. He is going to make a great addition to a college football program. Excellent college prospect.
