Mark Kingston hires Stuart Lake to coaching staff

According to multiple reports, head coach Mark Kingston has retained Stuart Lake as an assistant coach on the Gamecock Baseball staff.

Lake came to USC last year from Charleston Southern, where he was head coach for eight seasons. Prior to coaching Charleston Southern, Lake coached as an assistant at several schools, including a four-year stint as a volunteer assistant under Ray Tanner (1999-2002).

This past season, Lake was the Coordinator of Baseball Administration/Director of Player Development before taking over midseason as a hitting coach following the sudden departure of Brian Buscher.

Lake, originally from Prosperity, SC, is entering his second year in his current stay with the coaching staff. Lake will join Mike Current, a former USF assistant under Kingston, and returning USC pitching coach Jerry Meyers.
