Report: Meyers retained as pitching coach

A familiar face will be in the Gamecocks dugout in 2018.

According to a report by Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball.com, Mark Kingston has hired long-time Gamecock assistant Jerry Meyers as his pitching coach.

Meyers has coached 15 seasons in two stints at South Carolina. The first from 1997-2004, and the latest following the 2010 departure of Mark Calvi.

Meyers will join Mike Current, a former USF assistant under Kingston who was hired Saturday.
